Whales at Dawn, Beaches & Galle Fort
Hotel → Mirissa → Weligama → Unawatuna → Galle → Hotel
Pick-up around 5:00 am for the short drive to Mirissa harbour and a 6:30 am sailing into the deep water off Dondra Head, the best blue whale ground in the Indian Ocean. Back on land by late morning for the stilt fishermen and surf beach at Weligama, a seafood lunch and swim at Unawatuna, then a walk around the Dutch ramparts, lighthouse and lanes of Galle Fort before returning at sunset.
